Here’s something I’d like you to really ponder: Are you doing spiritual things because you want God to do something for you? Do you believe that you can get God to act on your behalf somehow, in some way, if you just push the right buttons? Do you want to unlock God and bring God into your service somehow? If you answer this query honestly then your answer will very likely be yes — yes you do want God to act on your behalf.

Well I think you ought to forget about seeing that work. You cannot turn God into a servant. God is not swayed at all by any human activity. God is a flow that can’t be changed no matter what you do. Stop trying to control God because you can’t. God is far too intelligent to take direction from humans, all of whom are some degree of being unconscious. Here’s what you can do: consciously connect with the ongoing flow, the constant flow, of God. Connect with this flow and let it move you, let it direct you, rather than trying to direct it.
